Abstract

The lack of students' knowledge in reading upright letters and copying a simple sentence into upright letters causes the low writing skills of grade II students at SD Negeri 11 Bahagia. One alternative that can be done is the use of card media. This study aims to improve the skills of writing upright letters through the use of card media in Indonesian language learning. The research method used was Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this research were second grade students of SD Negeri 11 Bahagia Panti. The average value of students in the pre-action activity with an increase of 60. This condition has increased the average value of students in cycle 1 which is 75 and the percentage of completeness is 55%. However, the increase still did not reach the previously applied target. Then after continuing to cycle 2, the average value in learning to write upright letters increased again by 81.2 with a percentage of completeness of 84%. This shows that the previously applied target has been achieved so that the research was stopped in cycle 2. Based on the results of the research analysis obtained, it will be concluded that the use of card media can improve student learning outcomes.
