Abstract
This study aims to determine students’ poetry writing skills before the implementation of the imaginative learning model at SDN 62 Beroanging, Jeneponto Regency, students’ poetry writing skills after the implementation of the imaginative learning model at SDN 62 Beroanging, Jeneponto Regency, and to examine the effect of the imaginative learning model on the poetry writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 62 Beroanging, Jeneponto Regency. This research employed a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The population in this study consisted of fifth-grade students at SDN 62 Beroanging. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling, with the sample comprising 11 students. Data collection techniques included tests and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential analysis. The results of the study show that: (1) students’ poetry writing skills before the implementation of the imaginative learning model obtained an average score of 55.90; (2) students’ poetry writing skills after the implementation of the imaginative learning model obtained an average score of 82.73; (3) inferential statistics using the N-gain test showed percentages in the high category (64%), medium category (27%), and low category (9%), with an average score of 0.54, which falls into the medium category. These findings indicate a difference in students’ poetry writing skills before and after the implementation of the imaginative learning model, as evidenced by higher post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. Hypothesis testing yielded a significance value of 0.000, with df = 21 and sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000/2=0<0.05
