Abstract
This research is motivated by the significant religious and ethnic diversity among students at SMP Negeri 5 Percut Sei Tuan. Therefore, it is important to instill religious moderation education to foster the spirit of moderation within the school environment and minimize conflicts arising from differences in understanding. This study aims to explore how the implementation of religious moderation education can shape students' character and how learning media can support the achievement of these objectives. This study employs a field research design using a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that the implementation of religious moderation education includes preparing learning instruments, determining learning objectives, selecting teaching methods and instructional media, and developing learning materials. The learning media used include textbooks, posters, YouTube, and WhatsApp. Although each medium has its strengths and weaknesses, the use of these media has positively impacted the learning process. Students become more active during classroom activities, enabling religious moderation education to be delivered more effectively.
